Christian and Satine are the the couple from Moulin Rouge. Their tragic story will now be summarized by me, the worst story teller in the world. *evil laugh* Christian was only a poor writer that had come from England to prove to his father that he could succeed here. You see, when a person writes, they need some sort of inspiration, but our friend here does not know of love. Yes, love, he hadn't ever been in love. Then this troupe of very silly people literally drop out of the ceiling. Their main character has this problem where he sleeps w/o even knowing it. So he's sleeping and they needed a temp right away, They asked Christian to be it and he started to sing wonderfully. They were awed, then they got drunk on some sort of greenish liquid. :) weird..but any who, they wanted to their play Spectacular, Spectacular to be played in the Moulin Rouge. It was like a nightclub to many. Courtesans performing song pieces and dancing all through the night. But their star, the great diamond of all, Satine was the star of the show. Christian was brought here and was arranged to "discuss" the proposal of their show. But then there was also another being there that night that was also supposed to have an arranged "discussion" with the courtesan. The Duke. Well, Satine got confused and thought that the Duke was Christian and was there because he was going to help the Moulin Rouge. Through and through, Christian sang in their meeting and she fell in love with him. But then she found out that he was NOT the Duke. She was about to kick him out when the Duke was right outside the door. But it was so difficult concealing Christian, that Satine had to kick out the Duke instead. Ironic, huh? :) But suddenly, the Duke burst back in and he found them. But they were able to convince the Duke with some really great timing people. They convinced him that this was just an Indian play, and he sponsored them in making it.

    Soon, Christian was able to convince Satine that they were meant for each other. They kept their relationship as much as possible, but something that Satine did sparked up an obsession in the Duke. He wanted complete "authority" over her. He didn't want anyone near her. But since Christian was the writer and Satine was the main character, they had to work with each other often. Well, the Duke didn't really have anything against it until Satine had to cancel dinner so many times to "work" on her play. Now this really pissed him off as u can see..:) One day, Ziddler, Moulin Rouges owner, caught them making out in the balcony. Not good. He told Satine to break it up, but she tried but just couldn't do it. Now, Satine had this disease that made her cough a lot..i mean a lot! She coughs up blood and it just saps all the energy from her. This is the early like 20's in France, so do you think they'll have the cure? Nope. (sad..:\) But Ziddler kept this from her because he needed the show to go on. When the Duke tried to rape Satine one dinner night, she couldn't take it so she and Christian were going to runaway, but then Ziddler confronted her and he told her that she was dying and that the show must go on. He told her to use her skills as an actress to save Christian. The Duke had ordered Christian's death if he were ever to come near Satine. She was supposed to use her skills to break his heart so he could be safe. She did and he ran into the premiere of the play that he wrote but could not attend. He called her a courtesan that was just for money and all the time they spent together was nothing. But she realized something and called him back with one of their songs. After a while, he knew that she meant it and he came singing with her. (now, by now, you'll realize that I'm a really bad storyteller so the best you can do is rent the movie.) But this is where the curtains fall, because during the celebration of the play, Satine started to sputter and cough and this is was the end. She died in Christian's arms making him promise that he will tell their story. He did and the movie was their story. The End.
