Anakin Skywalker, a 9 year old slave that resided in Tattooine, had "special powers." When he met the two Jedi, Qui Gon Jinn, he had a feeling that something was going to happen to his life. He also met the most beautiful being of all, an Angel as he claimed, Padme Naberrie. He was always very happy to spend time with her or to even glimpse her. Qui Gon felt that, just like Shmi (Annie's mother), that Anakin was special. Qui Gon said that if Annie was the first and only human to maneuver a pad racer, then he must have Jedi reflexes. Anakin was able to see what was to happen before they event took place and could blend into the pod and touch every single engine when he was driving it. It was like he was connected to all of his surroundings.

    When Qui Gon tested Annie's blood for the amount of midi chlorians, he was astounded that it had more than Master Yoda himself. This test confirmed that Anakin was Force sensitive and Qui Gon knew that he should be tested. With this, Qui Gon had complete trust in the boy when Annie went pod racing. Qui Gon had betted that Anakin would win so that if Qui Gon won, then Annie would be free. Qui Gon's was right, he did win and was freed. Now, Annie was just a kid and didn't immediately see that his mother wasn't free with him. He was a carefree kid and when he heard that he was free, he just ran off to pack. But then eventually he did realize that the only stable person in his life was not going to be with him when he became a Jedi. Or so he believed. He almost turned back to be with his mum because he couldn't go on, but his mom convinced him that this was his destiny, the right path to take. So without a look back, he went on to catch up with Qui Gon.

    On the way to the ship, he had his first encounter with a Sith being. The thing had tattoos all over it's face and had two menacing horns protruding from it's forehead. Qui Gon escaped him barely and they took off from the warm home planet that Annie came from. When they came to Coruscant, Anakin was brought to the Jedi temple to be tested. Qui Gon had told the Council that he believed that Annie was Force sensitive plus he suspected that Annie was the Chosen One. The one said to bring balance to the Force. So the Council said that they would test him to see. But Anakin was already too old and too much fear was already there, but Annie was indeed Force sensitive. When Qui Gon was told that Annie would not be trained, he told the Council that he take Anakin as his Padawan as Obi Wan was ready for the Trials. Now this really hurt the relationship between master and apprentice, but it was soon resolved. The matter about Annie was put the rest for awhile because there were more important matters at hand to be accounted for.

    Young Skywalker had developed a crush on the beautiful Padme and was constantly looking for the handmaiden when he saw the queen. But she never seemed to be there. When she revealed her identity to everyone, he really didn't seem see that anything was different. She was still the Padme he knew. Since he could not be trained by Qui Gon, Qui Gon told him to stay close the Jedi Knight. When the Master and Apprentice was confronted by the Sith, they fought furiously and Annie was ordered to stay in the cockpit of a nearby ship. Then suddenly, he had control of the ship and was on autopilot to go to Central ship where they controled the droids. The ships that were already around were trying to destroy it to help lessen the Gungan casualties. When Anakin unknowingly destroyed the ship by accident, he thought he could go back without be detected to stay out of trouble with Qui Gon. But when he got back, he found out that Qui Gon was killed by the evil Sith, and the other stable thing in Anakin's life had gone away. Now, not even Padme or Obi Wan could be like Qui Gon or his mother. This will eventually lead to something greater...

    When Qui Gon was dying he made Obi Wan promise him to train the boy because that was his destiny. Obi Wan promised and told his case to the Council and they reluctantly consented.. Anakin Skywalker was make the Padawan of Obi Wan Kenobi.
