[This is Amidala's bio as it was in TPM, and not in AOTC yet where she met the grown up Annie.]

    Padme Naberrie Amidala, elected queen of Naboo at the age of 14, became one of Naboo's most prestigious rulers. She was kind and generous, and rumored to be very beautiful, but all you can see is the emotionless face due to the traditional Naboo face paint. When her planet was invaded, she was forced by the Trade Confederation to sign a treaty that allowed them to stay permanently, but of course she did not sign. So when two Jedi showed up, they had to convince to leave her planet for the sake of her people because there were more sinister things going on than the eye can see.

    On the way to Coruscant, she met a sweet 9 year old boy named Anakin Skywalker. He gave them shelter when they needed and provided them with a meal. She was dubious when one of the Jedi betted their ship in a pod race with Anakin driving for parts they needed. (Now, the Queen let one of her decoys be queen during the time when she [the real queen] was out with the Jedi known as Padme Naberrie.) As it turned out, Anakin won the race and was freed, but Padme didn't really have him in mind as anything more than a little boy.

    The Queen was very worried for her people so when she was done with the Senate, she went back to Naboo to see if she can drive out the Trade Confederation. There she revealed her real identity to everyone and asked the Gungan to assist Naboo in reclaiming their planet. Queen Amidala had a great mind for strategies just as she was brave. Thanks to lil Anakin Skywalker, and many others, she was able to trick the Viceroy with her decoy and put him under arrest of some sort.

    In the end, she and the rest of Naboo was able to be at peace with the Gungans. Her position as queen would only be something in her long and tragic history.
